'I just got myself a new family member': Adorable chonky-cheeked orange cat finds a warm spot by person's fireplace, then chooses to stay and adopt the hooman for himself

Getting adopted by a cat is something that you never see coming. Sometimes, it happens in a dramatic fashion. You find a kitten calling out for help from somewhere on the road, and although you don't expect it, something takes over you and you simply cannot leave the little guy alone there to suffer. So, you get a cat. And sometimes, it happens like it happened here. Calmly. A cat walks into your house or over to you on the street, and just kind of… adopts you. And you have no choice but to accept it. 

Don't you know? The world is like one big adoption shelter for cats. Meaning, you, the humans, are there for them to adopt, not the other way around. It's just a question that they need to ask themselves - do I want to be adopted and when? And once they are ready, the Cat Distribution system is there to provide the purrfect human for them - the one who will love them and spoil them and give them everything that they want furever.

  • This is how it happens. This is how you get adopted. One day, a cat just shows up and makes your house his home. And you have nothing to do except accept it and be happy about it. And you will be - happy about it, that is. This is going to be the best thing that you have done in your life.

    SoontobeSam It looks like you're probably fairly rural. Best case he's in need of a loving home, likely case he has one and needs help finding his way back to it, worst case he had one and your neck of the woods looked like a good place to dump him... in which case see option 1 again.

  • We love that you named him Lucky. Even though really, you were the lucky one. People who don't have cats or have never had cats don't know just how much joy cats bring into people's lives, how much they make our lives better. You and Lucky are going to be a happy pairing.
